Role Description
This is a part-time role at 32 hours per week, on-site role located in San Angelo, TX, for an Entry-Level Infection Preventionist. The role involves supporting infection prevention programs by monitoring and analyzing infection trends, assisting with the development and implementation of prevention strategies, and providing staff education on infection control policies and best practices. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to identify risks and recommend effective solutions to combat healthcare-associated infections. Participating in compliance audits and maintaining accurate records are also key responsibilities.
You will receive training in infection prevention and be eligible to take the Certification in Infection Control Exam after 1 year of work.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Infection Control and Prevention practices
Understanding of Microbiology and its application in healthcare environments
Strong analytical skills to identify infection trends and assess risks
Effective communication skills for educating staff on best practices and policies
Bachelor's degree in microbiology, public health, Master's degree preferred
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is not required
Entry-level position for a new infection preventionist; it is not for a candidate with more advanced training in medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry
Starting Salary $20.40 per hour
