IP&MA IPs Support IIPW
International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), observed each year during the third week of October, highlights the critical role infection prevention plays in patient safety and public health. This important week raises awareness among healthcare professionals and communities about the impact of infection prevention practices across the continuum of care.
Throughout the year, the IP&MA team has remained committed to advancing infection prevention through education, consulting, surveillance support, and professional training programs. From self-paced certification preparation courses to hands-on infection surveillance training and customized healthcare staff education, IP&MA continues to support infection preventionists and healthcare organizations with the tools and expertise needed to strengthen patient safety and regulatory compliance.
This year, IP&MA team members have been actively sharing infection prevention education, training, and best practices with colleagues and healthcare professionals in their communities.
Kelley Boston recently presented “Key Infection Prevention Practices for High-Level Disinfection” at the Arkansas Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (AR-SGNA) annual educational conference at the University of Central Arkansas. Her session reinforced evidence-based practices that support safe reprocessing and infection prevention in clinical settings.
In Central Texas, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Central Texas chapter welcomed Kelly Holmes to their fall educational conference, where she delivered an engaging presentation focused on NHSN healthcare-associated infection (HAI) surveillance challenges and the transition to upcoming digital quality measures (dQMs). Her presentation helped infection preventionists navigate evolving reporting requirements while improving surveillance accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
These educational engagements reflect IP&MA’s broader mission to empower infection prevention prefossionals through program management, IP coaching, expert consulting services, NHSN surveillance support, competency assessments, CIC certification preparation, and flexible in-person and online training programs.
We were also excited for the opportunity to connect with our infection preventionist community, continuing to strengthen collaboration, professional development, and shared commitment to safer healthcare environments.
